All 83 people attending Saturday’s Quiz had a great evening, with 11 tables in competition with each other. Congratulations to Nicola Cox, Robin Goddard, Jane & Ed Short, Imogen and George Gate, Saman Jayalath and Stella Charman whose collective knowledge and great teamwork squeaked table 10 into first place! Peter and Sally put together a great set of questions with two particularly challenging sets of dingbats (visual word puzzles from which a well known phrase or saying has to be identified). Q: How many counties border Hampshire?
A: It was accepted that the answer could be 5 or 6 (and both scored), owing to the use of the word ‘border’.
However, there was some discussion as to whether the Isle of Wight is a county or not.
Well, the Isle of Wight is a county in its own right. Apart from policing, it has no formal administrative links with Hampshire.
