Organised by Beech Gardeners and open to all Beech Residents and those who participate in the social life of Beech. don’t miss this year’s show and enter as many classes as you can. Children can enter any class, we had several worthy children’s First in Class in last year’s show.
Please drop by and view the exhibits. We have increased the number of classes in the Flower Arranging Section and in the Photography Section reflecting the keen interest in Beech in those classes.
The Family class of making a Hot Air Balloon is for every one of all ages in the family to join in, even if some of us are only expected to clear up. Children often do this activity in school using blown up balloons and papier-mâché which is inexpensive but feel free to use whatever materials and method you can devise. It could be a way of entertaining the youngsters during the holidays.
There are two classes this year which will be judged by public vote on the morning of the show, the Abstract Art and a new Poetry Class.
There is a cup awarded to the Gardening Club member accruing the most points in the show and a Brownie Point Cup for the person entering the most classes. We have awards for various categories and certificates for all classes.
We try to cover the cost of staging the show with entry fees, 30p per entry per class, a modest profit on refreshments and a plant stall. If we do not manage to cover the cost of staging the show each year then we will not be able to put on a show the following year.
