The Beech Gardeners held their Christmas Party on 7 December at Kathy and Neil Pearce’s house, in their games room. The food and first drink were provided by the BGs’ Club and after that we bought the subsequent drinks. Wonderful sandwiches, prawn balls, cocktail sausages, pigs in blankets, sausage rolls, chicken balls, pizza, quiche etc etc were served up and for afters there were mini iced cakes, stollen bites, mince pies and Yule log and so on – all good stuff to fatten us up before Christmas. Kathy had decorated the room and invented some competitions for us – a gardening picture quiz, a trayful of 20 odd flowers other bits she had picked from her garden that day, and a Tombola. We also had a Secret Santa, and there was a competition for “something green” which was won by someone who had made a green patchwork bag especially for the party – brilliant.
A most enjoyable party and a lot of fun. Kathy and Sheila had put a lot of effort and thought into it, and thank you, Kathy, for having us all. Merry Christmas to everyone.
