Many congratulations to 
Andrew and Barbara Grice, the winning team of two for last Friday evening’s VE Day Quiz. 32 household teams joined in the event which was expertly hosted on Zoom by Paul Fleming, and supported by AHA software which favoured those who could get the right multiple choice answer in double quick time. Andrew and Barbara live in Alton but have taken part in the quizzes at Beech Village Hall a number of times over the years. They experienced very stiff competition from the Bennett and the Williams families, who came second and third respectively at the top of a really tight leader board. Andrew and Barbara said afterwards: ‘We usually try to answer the history and geography questions and rely on our team members to answer other subjects. Luckily for us, Friday night’s quiz played to our strengths!’
We are enormously grateful to Sara Varo for managing the software and typing in all Peter Cox’s fascinating and challenging questions. Many, many thanks to all of you who joined in and had fun to celebrate VE Day!
