The latest Wine Evening was planned along the lines of the Call my Bluff programme and we were very well supported in this by David Wright, a local wine wholesaler, who hosted the event for us.
Of course, I also need to thank Professor Von Klaptrapp, Phil McCavity and Angel (Beech’s answer to Nigella Lawson) for their thought provoking and entertaining banter.
The evening was well supported with nearly 70 people in attendance, so the new Hall got a real work out even though trips to the loo required an exciting trip in the dark!
The eventual winners were presented with their well deserved bottle of champagne to round off the night, just leaving the clearing up to the stalwart band of helpers. So many thanks once more to the team who make this event a reality (you know who you are).
Make sure that you put November 13 in your diary (and yes we know it’s Friday the 13th) when we will be having our by now traditional seasonal wine evening.
